Logan Simpson’s humble beginnings started on September 4, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona, when two determined young women with backgrounds in landscape architecture, biology, and the private sector founded the firm. Although they had only $2,000, one computer, and a laser printer, through their dedication to client satisfaction and innovative ideas they quickly found success.  

One of those two women was Diane Simpson-Colebank, who was the firm’s President for over 25 years. Diane played a pivotal role not only in creating the firm, but also in helping it grow into the respected and highly successful firm it is today. 

Over time the firm added two offices in Tucson and Flagstaff, Arizona and then expanded with offices in Utah and Colorado. Our growth continued when we added Cultural Resources and Community Planning, in addition to our existing service lines of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Services. Now we are one of the few fully collaborative multidisciplinary firms of our size in the West – integrating planning, design, cultural resources, and environmental expertise, while meeting our mission of working together to guide responsible change.

In 2021, Bruce Meighen, a long-term Principal in the firm, was elected as the new CEO and President. Bruce is supported by a team of visionary leaders, who as owners of the firm, continue to uphold the firm’s mission, vision, and core values.
