Charting a Course for Conservation

Windsor Open Space and Trails Strategic Plan

As population growth and new housing units continue to surpass annual projections, the Town of Windsor Colorado’s public opinion surveys repeatedly revealed the community’s consistent demand for more open space and trails. In response to this demand, the Town of Windsor collaborated with Logan Simpson for their historic first-ever Open Space and Trails Strategic Plan to chart a course for conservation that will guide the Division for the next 5-10 years.

Windsor’s Open Space and Trails Strategic Plan provides a strategy and policy framework for expanding the Town’s land-acquisition, restoration, long-term stewardship, capital project planning, and funding efforts. The plan was directly informed by public input on open space and trail priorities, desired benefits, and the community’s expectations for their future open space and trails network.
