Founded as a small 19th Century agricultural and railroad town, Windsor has now become one of the most desirable suburban communities in Colorado. Its desirability is reflected in the incredible growth over the last decade—a rate that was triple of what was projected under the 2016 plan. Logan Simpson is assisting the Town in updating this Comprehensive Plan, taking a fresh assessment of this growth and its implications for the future of the town. The process included a strong design focus and community discussions about desired character, resulting in conceptual site designs for five future growth areas across the town. Balancing the design with a fiscal and infrastructure capacity analysis ensured that new growth could be planned in a manner that is both in the Town’s and community’s best interest. This plan won a Colorado APA Merit Award in 2024.
