Identifying historic properties for fuel reduction and vegetation treatment
Connell Integrated Resource Timber Contract Survey
Logan Simpson conducted an intensive cultural resources survey in the Chino Valley Ranger District of the Prescott National Forest. This area was home to many for roughly 8,000 years, meaning there was a wealth of archaeological sites that needed to be considered. However, our team was up for the challenge, not to mention mountain lions, lightning strikes, and more. Overcoming all those challenges was well worth it, because our team was able to ensure all cultural resources were recorded and timber reduction could go ahead as planned.
Logan Simpson has performed intensive Class III cultural resources inventories for timber and fuels contracts on all the national forests in Arizona. These projects cover tens of thousands of acres, resulting in established institutional knowledge of these types of projects and the cultural resources that we encounter. Through this knowledge, Logan Simpson was able to identify and re-document 31 previously recorded archaeological sites, 136 newly recorded sites, and 198 Isolated Occurrences (IOs).
