Empowering Pueblo: Community Growth Through Community Education and Recreation

St. Charles Mesa Recreation Center Site Master Plan

The St. Charles Mesa Community Recreation Center is a visionary project aimed at enriching the lives of residents in Pueblo County’s Salt Creek/Fulton Heights neighborhoods. Spanning 18.4 acres near downtown Pueblo Colorado, this initiative will establish a vibrant hub for community engagement, recreation, and cultural celebration.

Approved as part of the 1A package in 2016, the project has evolved to focus on a 16,000-square-foot recreation center, complemented by a meticulously planned park space. The center will offer diverse programs and amenities, from sports facilities and fitness areas to educational opportunities in agriculture and family sciences, fostering health, well-being, and lifelong learning.

Integrating historical elements and community feedback, the center’s design pays homage to the area’s rich heritage while embracing modern needs and aspirations. It will serve as a gathering place for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, fostering inclusivity, connection, and vitality in the heart of St. Charles Mesa.

With partnerships forged and goals set, the St. Charles Mesa Community Recreation Center stands as a beacon of resilience, sustainability, and community pride, poised to transform lives and landscapes for generations to come.
