Moving beyond traditional public involvement to immersion
Mesa General Plan and Balanced Housing Plan
Within an 18-month timeframe, the team developed the next generation of the Mesa General Plan. The Plan focuses on key areas: The People, The Land, The Economy, and Implementation, using everyday language to make it accessible. It aims to transform one of the West’s largest cities into a high-tech mecca and an aviation center with three airports. Key projects include a new downtown, expanded light rail, and a future streetcar system. The project utilized immersive technology to envision and develop the future of Arizona’s premier city, ensuring a comprehensive and innovative approach to urban planning and development.
Logan Simpson also assisted with the development of the city of Mesa’s Balanced Housing Plan, which focused on the missing middle housing as local workforce housing and housing for executives associated with the emerging tech industry.
