Girl Scouts Planting Pollinator Garden
Desert Discovery Garden at Mercury Mine School
The Desert Discovery Garden at Mercury Mine School in Phoenix, just north of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, was impacted by the construction of a 66″ diameter water line. This project was undertaken by the City of Phoenix to ensure a reliable water supply to the northern parts of the City. Logan Simpson’s landscape architecture team led the restoration of the Desert Discovery Garden and were assisted by a group of Girl Scouts. The Scouts learned first-hand about the types of plants that pollinators rely upon, and each girl had the opportunity to add a plant to the Garden.
