Purposeful design enriching Denver’s neighborhood experience

Fairfax Park

This public urban pocket park was constructed in the middle of a block that is being redeveloped as a mixed-use, higher density project. Features in the park were designed to meet the multi-generational needs of adjacent residents based on an extensive public engagement process. Park amenities include a splash pad, custom shade structures, and a unique urban play feature centered in the park.  Surface drainage and runoff is be filtered through a bioretention planter medium before being released to downstream storm drains. Logan Simpson worked with University of Colorado Denver Landscape Architecture Masters program to document baseline conditions to measure social, environmental, and economic performance of the site after construction.
