Logan Simpson worked with Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites & Trails and the Bureau of Reclamation to assist in the preparation of the Master Plan and lead the Resource Management Plan and associated Environmental Assessment. The 8,000-acre reservoir and adjacent lands, part of the Shoshone Project, are owned and operated by Reclamation to generate power and supply water to irrigators and municipalities across Park and Big Horn counties. Wyoming State Parks manages recreation under a license agreement with Reclamation, overseeing visitor activities and maintaining facilities. The park offers fishing, camping, picnicking, and a variety of water sports in settings that range from remote and primitive to moderately developed. Intended as a 20-year guide for the park, the Plan provides the foundation for decision-making to accommodate recreation and visitor amenities while preserving the park’s natural, cultural, and recreational character and resources.
