Logan Simpson assisted in site selection and completed multidisciplinary studies in support of the 400-megawatt Apelt Ranch Solar Project, located in Pueblo County, Colorado. The project will provide clean and affordable energy for the Pueblo region and Colorado. We provided the developer with Class III cultural resources surveys, biological field surveys, viewshed and photographic simulations, mitigation plans, and the full preparation of the 1041 permit requirements for Pueblo County. We also provided additional resources with public outreach and county communication during the permitting process.

Our work on the project required our renewable energy, design, cultural resources, biological, and environmental service lines to work collaboratively together and with the developer to complete the project on schedule and within budget. Our studies allowed the developer to avoid wetlands, sensitive species, and significant cultural resources in their project design. The Board of County Commissioners’ unanimous approval demonstrates our commitment to guiding responsible change while meeting the energy demands of today and the future.
