The Turkey Creek Project is a 200-megawatt large-scale solar energy facility planned approximately 18 miles west of Pueblo, Colorado. Designed to support the region’s transition to clean, renewable energy, the project generated solar power while incorporating battery storage to help deliver reliable electricity to southern Colorado. The facility spanned roughly 1,093 acres and included solar panels that tracked the sun throughout the day to maximize energy production, along with supporting infrastructure such as inverters, transformers, and a substation to connect the project to the electrical grid. Logan Simpson supported the project from early site selection through permitting, helping identify constraints to suitable sites, map alternative transmission corridors, navigate Pueblo County’s land use approval process, and conduct all biological, visual, and cultural studies. The team also led public outreach efforts to ensure community perspectives were considered throughout project development.
