Public Involvement

As a community planning firm, Logan Simpson draws on a variety of tools for the public involvement phase of community outreach. Interactive online surveys, participatory community meetings, social networking sites, and collaboration with stakeholder task force groups allow us to base our plans on the needs of each community. We understand what really works with public involvement, and cater our tools to reach participants who might not typically engage. We develop targeted and customized public involvement plans, which include high-tech outreach engagement tools, public events, and working groups. We work with our clients to develop communication strategies that utilize existing media channels, and make recommendations for additional broadcast outreach and online engagement. Public events are structured in a way that is interactive, non-confrontational, and fun. At key points, online questionnaires or “to-go” workshop kits mirror the activities at public events to allow stakeholders to participate remotely.

When facilitating meetings, we focus our approach to directly address and resolve conflict, build consensus around commonly-held values, and hold everyone accountable to interact constructively. Our tools and techniques are designed to ensure transparent communication and inspire trust with the public, stakeholders, elected officials, and staff.
