Senior Planner – Salt Lake City

Logan Simpson, a growing multi-discipline, environmental planning and design firm, is looking for a Senior Planner to work in our Salt Lake City, Utah office.

This position will be responsible for providing planning consultant services to municipalities throughout Utah, Idaho, and Colorado. Responsibilities include communication with clients and agencies including presentations to city councils, planning commissions, etc.; developing comprehensive/general plans, studies, and reports; ordinances; design guidelines and manuals; coordination of public outreach activities; and related duties as required. This position will also research planning issues, and collect relevant data for public sector and transit-oriented development projects.

Proven experience conducting public meetings and working with stakeholders are required. Proficiency in GIS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite are also required. Experience with comprehensive and general plans, design guidelines, vision documents and processes are preferred. Experience with social media and website development is highly desired. Candidates must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possess strong communication skills. Additionally, candidates must have a positive attitude and open mind towards involvement on a wide range of project types.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or closely related field.
  • 7-12 years of relevant consulting or agency experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
