Assistant Director of Cultural Resources – Salt Lake City

Logan Simpson, a growing cultural resources and environmental planning firm, currently seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Cultural Resources to work in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The position is region-level and will include management of projects and staff in Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and Colorado.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to assist the Director of Cultural Resources in achieving efficient, profitable, timely, and technically excellent performance through effective team leadership, mentoring, training, and supervision. Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in a senior management position (including demonstrable experience managing budgets, schedules, and multiple staff) while having frequent client and agency contact in a decision-making role. Business development and proposal preparation responsibilities will also be expected.

Requirements include:

  • A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Anthropology or related field and 10 or more years of archaeology consulting or agency experience or equivalent combination.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience in a Cultural Resource Management setting.
  • Excellent technical writing, technical editing, verbal communication, and public speaking skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team setting and with multiple personnel across a wide area.
